“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities, the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.” Isa. 53:5

In commerce, it is true that an item is only worth what the buyer is willing to pay for it. In politics, this is not always true as it depends on leverage and other factors the price you pay to purchase an item. A good example is the United States of America. A simple trawl of the internet will unearth transactions such as the Alaska Purchase from Russia, the Louisiana Purchase from France and the purchase of Florida from Spain. It is commonly agreed that the USA will be less that what it is today had any of these territories not been acquired when they were.

Notwithstanding the importance of these purchases, another transaction of greater magnitude took place eighteen hundred years before those recorded above. While no money was exchanged, an item of infinite value was purchased and paid for with the life of an infinite God. It is a transaction that can never again be equalled because God Himself paid the asking price. He gave His life and served the punishment of death in exchange for mankind’s sin. He died so that we might live, was wounded so that we can be healed and made whole. He became poor so that we can be rich.

The bible also says that Jesus Christ endured the severe punishment that chastisement is so that we the beneficiaries of His spiritual largesse might have peace. He paid for our peace with severe beatings and cruel maltreatment. He was beaten to an inch of his life so that you and I can enjoy the peace of God and peace with God. Jesus Christ paid with His own life in exchange for a divine package and was satisfied with the transaction even though it cost Him dearly. His wounds cancelled our sins, His bruises nullified any guilt we might have from sinning against God, His chastisement and the accompanying pain bought us peace and well being and the painful stripes He received resulted in healing and wholeness of life. His death on the Cross not only gave us eternal life, but also ensured that we will enjoy a reasonable standard of living as we appropriate His manifold blessings.

So, how do we access these mouth-watering divine provisions? By faith of course! The bible says that the just shall live by faith. We are saved by faith; we walk by faith, we receive healing by faith, we live in divine health by faith, and we receive God’s forgiveness by faith and have already been made guiltless due to exercising our faith in the atonement of the blood of Jesus Christ. Lastly, we enjoy the peace of God and peace with God by faith. This remains the greatest purchase ever made and will only make it count in your life through boldly exercising your faith. For that reason, claim whatever you need form God by faith today. It is already paid for.

Prayer:
Lord, you have set the table before me in the presence of my enemies and I shall eat to my satisfaction. I receive healing for my illness, peace for my troubles, and life for every manifestation of death in my life, wholeness in every area of my life as I thank you for your great provision. Thank you Lord for taking my place, for your death has brought me life. Therefore, I shall not die but live to declare God’s glory. Amen.
